The Message: "Hello, I am HR from [Big Company]. We have a part-time job for you. Earn ₹3000-₹8000 daily working from home."
This is called a Task Scam. It is currently one of the biggest financial frauds in India.
Phase 1: The Bait
They actually pay you! You complete a small task (like subscribing to a YouTube channel) and they send you ₹150 or ₹200 via UPI.
This builds trust. You think, "It's real!"
Phase 2: The Trap
They add you to a Telegram group. Now, to get "higher paying tasks", you must "invest" money.
- Pay ₹1000 -> Get ₹1300 back
- Pay ₹5000 -> Get ₹7000 back
Eventually, they ask for a huge amount (e.g., ₹50,000). Once you pay, they block you.
How RakshaLink Helps
RakshaLink checks supported WhatsApp, SMS, RCS and Telegram notification previews for combinations such as unsolicited selection, easy daily income, task payments and pressure to move into a numbered chat or group. When enough risk signals are visible, it can warn that the message resembles a known scam pattern.
