The Message: "Dear Customer, your SBI account will be blocked today due to invalid KYC. Update immediately at: sbi-kyonlin-update.com"
This is the most common banking scam in India. It creates instant panic. You think, "I can't lose access to my money!" and click the link.
What happens when you click?
The link opens a fake website that looks identical to your bank's login page.
It asks for:
- Username & Password
- Mobile Number
- OTP (One Time Password)
Once you enter the OTP, the scammer (who is watching in real-time) logs into your actual bank account and transfers your funds.
How RakshaLink Can Help
When a supported notification preview contains a KYC threat or link, RakshaLink assesses the available wording, URL structure and sender context on-device. It can flag a brand name used inside an unrelated domain or urgent language designed to make you act without verifying.
A warning is not proof, and a safe result is not a guarantee. Check the request in the official bank app or contact the bank using the number printed on your card or statement.
