Automatic payments are convenient until you forget which service is charging you, a trial turns paid, or an expected debit does not appear. RakshaLink's Spending → Mandates view is designed to make those recurring payments easier to review without linking a bank account.
What RakshaLink can organise
When Notification Access is enabled and a supported preview contains enough information, RakshaLink can recognise signals such as a UPI AutoPay mandate, e-mandate, standing instruction, subscription charge or recurring debit. The Mandates view may show:
- 📋 Merchant and amount parsed from the preview when available
- 🗓️ Payment cycle and expected date inferred from the saved activity
- 🏷️ Categories such as streaming, music, investment, insurance or telecom
- ✍️ Manual entries for payments RakshaLink did not detect
Detection coverage depends on the wording your bank or payment app displays, the preview made available by Android, your settings and the history already stored locally. RakshaLink cannot promise to find every recurring payment.
How it works on Android
Android Notification Access lets RakshaLink inspect the same preview text visible in the notification shade from supported apps. It does not provide access to your complete SMS inbox or full chat history.
Example notification preview
₹499 will be debited on 12 Aug
for an active UPI AutoPay mandate
If that preview contains enough evidence, RakshaLink parses it on-device and saves a structured local record. It does not upload the raw notification text for scam scanning, and no bank account is linked.
What happens on a new install?
Because RakshaLink does not have SMS permission, it cannot scan 90 days of your SMS inbox. A new install starts with notification previews received after protection is enabled. You can add an existing recurring payment manually while the local history builds.
Truthful review tools in v1.38.0
The current Mandates experience separates confirmed activity from estimates:
- Needs confirmation shows an expected payment that did not appear and asks whether it ended, paused, failed, is still active or is uncertain.
- Pro Insights uses the payment data actually saved on the device for monthly and annual projections, category breakdowns and possible overlaps.
- No invented savings: a missing payment is not automatically labelled as a cancellation or saving.
These are organisation and estimation tools, not bank statements. Confirm any debit, mandate status or cancellation in the official bank, UPI or merchant app.

Use recurring-debit insights safely
An unfamiliar entry deserves attention, but it is not proof of fraud. Open the official payment or bank app independently, review the mandate there and contact the provider through a verified channel. Never follow a cancellation link sent by an unknown person or share an OTP to stop a debit.
RakshaLink's recurring-payment tools complement its scam warnings: they help you notice patterns and verify them, while the decision remains with you and your official provider.
